About Me
I'm Janet D. Marcelin, the photographer and storyteller behind Marcelin Studios. I grew up in Cuba, where my grandparents took me through art and history museums. That's where I first learned that an image can make you feel, remember, and connect. I went on to earn a degree in Art History and Art Criticism, and in 2022 I made the leap from studying art to creating it, trading academia for my camera.
Motherhood changed the way I see the world. It made me slower, more present, and more aware of how quickly these seasons pass, and it drew me from weddings into the tender work of maternity and family photography. Now based in Greenville, South Carolina, I approach every session as an experience rather than a posed shoot, capturing the quiet in-between moments and honest connection that become a family's most treasured memories.
